Career details and achievements
- After leaving the army, Gary joined the security industry where he concentrated on organisation and operations of large or complex projects, in a variety of industries, some of which included petro-chemical, pharmaceutical and media.
- Introduced logistics to construction through more efficient use and the multi-skilling of the security team on a high-profile, complex project in the City of London.
- Working with UNHCR, Gary helped to establish a logistics and transport network in Former Yugoslavia during the conflict.
- Established Wilson James Ltd as a market leader in construction logistics and front-of-house security.
- Has lead several senior public sector non-executive roles in regeneration, sports development and business support.
- Adapting the concept of consolidation centres to be fit for purpose, to meet the needs of the modern construction project.
- Developed and trained rescue crews to manage safety for a range of marine activities, specialising in large sailing regattas.
