Mike Branigan
Mike is a senior executive with extensive experience in total supply chain strategy and operations across a wide sector base, including construction, retail, chemicals, fashion and engineering. After leaving university as an industrial engineer, Mike started his career in manufacturing and logistics consulting with Coopers & Lybrand in the United States, moving with them to the UK in the mid 1980s. He then moved into industry, making a successful transition to business leader. Mike now advises clients on acquisition integration, business restructuring, productivity improvements and supply chain re-engineering.

• Worked with DouglasBay Capital to take private TDG plc, the fourth largest 3rd party logistics business in the UK. Restructured the business into capability-focused business units, reducing operating costs by £23m annualised. First year’s underlying profit up 8% on revenues of £700m. Sold TDG to Norbert Dentressangle in 2011. Like-for-like underlying operating profits of £35.0m, 22% higher than previous year’s strong outturn, despite recessionary pressures. Sale for £208m generated an IIR of over 30%
• Based in Brussels, developed and implemented a pan-European distribution strategy for Levi Strauss EMEA, resulting in a 25% saving in the cost of outbound and inbound distribution. Led the change programme across 11 sales offices serving 60 countries, originally starting with 13 distribution centres, rationalised to 9
• Led the Materials Management organisation of 120 people and undertook a re-organisation for Otis Plc, reduced inventories by 20%, improved on-time in-full deliveries from 5% to 90% and cut operational costs by over 30%
• At Coopers & Lybrand sold and delivered multiple USA, pan-European and international supply chain strategy projects and implementations utilising consulting/client teams, for Levi Strauss EMEA, AGA Gases, BT, and EMI Music. Worked with supply chain budgets of from £50m to £1billion. Programme budgets ranged from £10m to over £100m, involving multiple geographies and cross-cultural change
