Developing joint business opportunities

When the acumen7 network was established, it created an environment for business opportunities to be brought to the table, debated and germinated. This has been possible through the diversity of experience, knowledge of the marketplace, strong connections and the ability to make things happen.

A number of business opportunities have been successfully spawned by members of the network with impressive results. Here are three:

EUROPE BUILD

Our objective is to help companies succeed by improving people, process and product areas. We can draw not only on our own expertise but that of the acumen7 network and a further range of associates.

Our services include:
• Strategic Business Development
• Strategic Alliances & Partnering
• Business Marketing
• Operational Improvements
• Business Advice & Mentoring

We are currently completing a major project with Enterprise Ireland, working with a number of companies in the Irish Construction sector, and have a variety of further projects in the pipeline.

THE SMALL HYDRO COMPANY

The Small Hydro Company funds and develops small scale hydro electric generation installations making use of the available energy in lowland rivers and tidal estuaries. The objective of the business is to harness this source of renewable energy at suitable locations, providing direct benefit to land owners and sustainable long-term benefits to the wider community.

SPRING REHABILITATION CENTRES

Spring Rehabilitation Centres, based at Branksome Place in Haslemere, provides ‘Consultant led’ 3 week residential exercise based group rehabilitation and physiotherapy to support clients with complex musculo-skeletal injuries. The unique programme, based on the Defence Medical Services’ successful active rehabilitation principles as practised at Headley Court, meets NICE and European Guidelines. These strongly recommend that early intervention and participation in up to 100 hours of active rehabilitation are crucial factors in regaining optimum activity levels, and prevention of slide into chronic musculo-skeletal disorders.

Spring is Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered and the programme is ideal for people for whom earlier, traditional outpatient modalities alone are not sufficient to achieve full resolution of difficulties at 3-6 months post-injury. The centre at Branksome Place opened in late 2010 and first programme was completed in 2011.
